Dance/Fitness Classes

Adult Hip Hop: Begin with a 15-minute warm up comprising movement quality/vocabulary specific to the genre, and dance-specific strength training. This class is meant to energize and challenge, as well as encourage individuality.  It features athletic, fast-paced choreography incorporating isolation and footwork inspired by various styles within the genre. Regular attendance will help you develop musicality, coordination and strength, and improve your ability to freestyle.

Adult Contemporary: Begin with a 15-minute warm up comprising movement quality/vocabulary specific to the genre, and dance-specific strength training. This class utilizes dance as a tool for expression, creativity and versatility.  We’ll learn short combos that play with space and develop varied movement quality. Choreography will incorporate some ballet and jazz technique, but will primary focus on floor work, range of motion, and abstract movement. Since this class is more about sensation and less about precision, it is an excellent space for beginners.  

Ballet Sculpt: Ballet sculpt is a ballet inspired class designed to create long lean muscles.    Every class includes leg, core, and upper body series of movements along with stretching to create a whole body workout. You can expect to use light hand weights, resistance bands and Pilates balls throughout the class.

Barre: Combining ballet, Pilates, and core-strengthening, this class is a full body, low-impact, intense work-out. You can expect a dance inspired warm-up, followed by center work with weights, along with the your workout at the barre. Class ends with strengthening exercises along with mat work and stretching.

Capoeira: Beginners welcome. Whether one enjoys dance, acrobatics, martial arts, language, music, or simply meeting new friends, capoeira has something for everyone.    Capoeira can be difficult to describe, but it’s a lot of fun.  The first class of each month focuses on fundamental movements, so come try a class and discover this amazing sport!

Hip Hop Conditioning: An adult, high energy, total body conditioning class mixed with hip hop dance movements for a calorie busting, body tightening, fun time! For all dancers and “non-dancers” alike.
